With over 31,000 undergraduate students attending each year, the Dykstra Hall dorms on the campus of University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) are always filled to capacity with student residents. Unfortunately, Dykstra Hall does not offer central air, making the interior climate warm and slightly uncomfortable. In order to combat this issue, UCLA contracted with Xlnt Tint of Anaheim, Inc. to install 3M Prestige to enhance the comfort of the dorms offered to their students.
3M Prestige 40 was selected due to its high performance, low reflectivity and low impact on the overall appearance of the glass. Offering 60% heat rejection while blocking 97% of the sun’s IR rays, 3M Prestige 40 will significantly improve the comfort of all 10 stories of the UCLA dorm.
